Zutara: Voyage by ArtCrawl
Zutara: Voyage
Remember how last year I was all fired up to participate in Zutara week and Robstar week? Haha, oh zealous past year me, you so crazy. :iconohyouplz: Well, I'm sure you all can see that that didn't happen, I didn't get to draw all of the oh-so interesting prompts cause life punched me in the face LIKE A BOSS.
But I did get to draw one. :iconsuccessbabyplz: This one. The prompt is voyage.

The descripiton of the word voyage had something about it often being a journey on water, so I did that. Zuko and Katara on a boat. Make up your own destination. :eyes:

I had a blast painting the smoke in the background and the sparkly water (I learned a lot from painting the background in that RobStar: Day and Night piece, I can tell you that). Gave them some different outfits for this here piece too.
Man, I always have fun playing around with the (excuse the pun) elements of their original outfits and making new ones out of them. It's such fun. :giggle:

Anyway, hope you guys likey. First piece of the year. Woo-flippin-hoo!

Yeeeahh! First journal entry of the year. And what's it gonna be about this time, oh, yeah, I'm on Instagraaaam. Finally. My brothers have been pestering me for a long time now to join the site. So yeah, you can find me there now. I'm artcraawl, with two a's because I got tired of my name being mixed up with art crawl the event. www.instagram.com/artcraawl/ *sigh* Good times.

Now to talk about plans. I'm thinking of doing a bit more interactive stuff here, you know, stuff that you guys can have a bit of a hand in. I've already got an idea. Hopefully I'll get to do it soon. I can dream, right?
Commissions are something I'm going to be starting also. I'll have a price list up soon for anyone that's interested.
Another thing I would love to do is Youtube videos. Seriously, guys, guys, I want to make videos. Yeah, I could do it now, but I really want to make them with audio. Cause I love videos with audio and commentary from the artist. I don't know, it's just nice to know a bit about what they were thinking when they made the piece, and get to know a little bit about them, just like their personality, what techniques they use, and whatnot. But I don't have a microphone at the moment so that's going to have to wait.
So yeah, in short; interactivity, Youtube, commissions, plans. Lawd Jesus halp me.

Last year was a bit slow for me. I think I drew less in that year than I did in any of the previous ones. Which to be truly honest for some reason isn't all that discouraging cause if you see those improvement meme thingys you realize that everyone has those years where they kind of hit a slump. Sometimes it's one year, sometimes it's more. But you know, regardless of whether the slump is over for me or not I'm gonna try to make it work and make art. :icontimgunnplz: And I'm not going to let the decline in Deviantart's activity, Donald Trump getting votes, people hating the new Star Wars, or anything like that stop me.

It may only be fourteen days into 2016 but I hope it's treating you kind and you all still have a passionate, positive outlook on the days of the year to come. If not, or you never had one to begin with I really hope that that changes for you and things start to look nice and coolio. Happy belated New Year, guys. May it be more awesome than we could have hoped.

Secret Santa: Tinkerbell by ArtCrawl
Secret Santa: Tinkerbell
Oh my God, I did not think I could do it but it's done. My Secret Santa piece is finished and I have the sore shoulder to prove it.
This was so much fun, although frankly a bit of a pain in the neck (or should I say shoulder). But you know, my fault. I keep starting off simple and then take on more and more until it's way more than I can handle while staying sane. But like I said before this piece was still super fun to do, and as always I learned a lot. This one is for you :iconmoonprincess-yumi:. I really hope you like it. :)

So, about the piece, one of the characters my Secret Santa recipient listed as one of her favorites was Tinkerbell. I felt that that would be fun to do, plus I got an idea the instant I read the word Tinkerbell, so that pretty much cinched it. And believe it or not I had never drawn Tinkerbell before so this was the perfect opportunity to do so. (I'm trying to be more out of the box :iconcoolplz:) She also listed Treasure Planet as one of her favorite movies, so yeah, I put a little cameo of the map in there. I hope it's recognizable in the midst of everything else going on in this piece.
Oh yeah, Autumn, snow and nature were listed in her favorite themes too so I tried to incorporate those in there also.

I read somewhere that it's always good to wait until about the next day before posting a finished piece because you might see something totally wrong with it that you are just plain old oblivious to when you first finish making it, but God dammit, I do not have time for that. :iconaintnobodyplz:  I really hope this counts as on time cause I would love to join again next year.

Alright, I think I've carried on with this description long enough. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I wish you all a Happy New Year. Woohoo! Here's to the last piece I'll b posting here this year.

Mias and Elle
My entry for :iconstressedjenny:'s contest. Woohoo! It's Mias being silly and trying to give Elle a Christmas gift he thinks is great; a dick in a box. :icondickinaboxplz: I had one other idea, but due to a lack of time and getting punched in the face by illness I could only do one, so I went with this idea. Cause it's fun. Plus Christmas is coming up so what could be better than a Christmas themed picture. :giggle:

There were three things I wanted to be big in this piece; Elle's sleeves, her head wreath, and Mias'... smile. I'm definitely happy with the size of the head wreath and Mias' smile (any bigger and it would have been creepy), but I kind of wish I had made Elle's sleeves more poofy, I'm talking Ariel's wedding dress' sleeves poofy. Oh well.

This picture was tougher and at the same time easier than I thought it would be. It started out a little bit shaky but in the end I like how it came out.

I thought about drawing Mias with clothes on, but I decided to start living dangerously art-wise and, as I've heard recently, "stay ballsy".
I'm guessing I still have a lot of male anatomy research to do. Before I have to change my name to "the girl who can't do male anatomy right, but continues to do it anyway". :iconshameplz:
Quite a few firsts in this piece as well, two of them being drawing Stressedjenny's awesome characters and, of course, drawing chest hair.

This was big fun to do and I'm so glad I was able to finish it in time. Whatever the outcome doing this piece for this contest was awesome and just what I needed right now.

As for all the messages I haven't responded to, I will soon. And hopefully I'll have something else to post too.

Oh, and if you haven't seen "Dick in a Box" I've put a happy little link to it riiiight here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABrSYq…

Gomez and Morticia by ArtCrawl
Gomez and Morticia
Yeeeaaah, it's Halloween! And unlike last year I've got something drawn for it. Success! :iconsuccessbabyplz:

I saw the Addams family movie, both the first and second one about, I don't know, two months ago, and I loved them. I wasn't interested in them much when I was a kid (I know, bring out the torches and pitchforks. I'm a disgrace.), but now as an adult I absolutely love them. It really makes a difference to be able to understand the jokes. And now that I've gotten in touch with my creepy loving side, The Addams Family is right up my alley.
I fell in love with Gomez and Morticia as a couple and I knew I had to draw them. It had been a while (and by a while I mean forever) since I last drew a piece for my couples collection and Halloween was just around the corner by the time I decided to draw these two. So I thought, what could be better than drawing Gomez and Morticia? Pretty much nothing, that's what. I got to hit two birds with one stone with this piece. And that makes me so happy. :D

I did a weird little cross between the T.V. show and movie versions of Gomez and Morticia here. It was so hard to choose cause both versions are great. So why not both? :giggle: hwehwe

Anyways,  hope y'all are having a fun, safe, splendid Halloween. :squee: Wheee!

Aaw, that's awesome that you would consider me to help you bring your ideas to life but at the moment things are pretty crazy, so requests are out of the question. I'm open for commissions though, if you're into that sort of thing.
